About
I’m Adan Condori, a Senior Engineering Leader with 10+ years building scalable payment systems and fintech products. I currently lead payment integrations at Playbypoint (USA), and I write here about the work behind real-world payments: gateway architecture, 3DS, ADRs, distributed systems, and the engineering practices that make all of it shippable.
What I do
- Payment systems engineering — Multi-gateway architectures, idempotency, capability registries, reconciliation, 3DS 2.0, PCI scope reduction. Production systems handling $5M+ in transactions.
- Engineering leadership — Hiring, mentoring, on-call rotations, sprint triage, incident reviews. I care about teams that ship, not just teams that talk.
- Software architecture — Architecture Decision Records, design patterns, layered systems, cloud migrations (IBM → AWS), refactoring at scale.
Why this blog exists
I write what I wish I’d had when I was learning. Most engineering posts skim the surface; I try to ground every post in the specific incidents, code, and metrics that taught me the lesson. If a post doesn’t include real numbers (MTTR, latency, error rate, transaction volume), it didn’t make the cut.
Posts are mostly in Spanish — there’s a real shortage of senior-level engineering content in Spanish, and that’s something I want to help fix. I publish English versions when the topic warrants it.

Editorial policy
- Every post is written by me, from first-hand experience. No AI-generated content.
- I cite primary sources (Stripe docs, EMVCo 3DS spec, PCI-DSS, RFCs) when applicable. References section at the bottom of each long-form post.
- If I get something wrong, I update the post and note the change. Corrections are a feature, not a bug — the
last_modified_atdate in the schema reflects when each post was last reviewed. - Code samples are illustrative — production systems always have more context than fits a blog post.
- No sponsored content. No affiliate links. No paywall.
